Three-Day Team Building Retreat Focuses on Leadership, Innovation, and Collaboration
Embun Design Studio successfully hosted a three-day team-building event at Pulau Besar, Johor Bahru, bringing together 29 employees for an intensive programme aimed at developing key professional and interpersonal skills. The retreat, which took place over the course of three days, was designed to enhance self-confidence, time management, integrity, innovation, team spirit, and leadership.
As a mandatory company-wide event, the programme saw full participation from all departments. Embun Design Studio provided accommodation and a full board of meals—including breakfast, lunch, tea time, and dinner—ensuring the comfort and energy of all attendees throughout the retreat.
Upon arrival, staff members were randomly assigned into mixed-department teams to promote cross-functional interaction. Day one featured foundational activities including:
Team Management Challenge: Focused on coordination and problem-solving.
Lost and Found Game: Encouraged navigation skills and resourcefulness.
Build a Sea Ship: Highlighted innovation and teamwork under pressure.
The second day deepened the focus on leadership and physical resilience with a variety of indoor and outdoor sessions:
Leadership Workshops: Built communication and strategic thinking skills.
Innovation Labs: Stimulated creativity through collaborative mini-projects.
Outdoor Activities: Hiking, jungle trekking, and volleyball enhanced stamina, team coordination, and adaptability.
The final day tested both physical and mental endurance:
Obstacle Course: Teams worked together to complete a physically demanding challenge, reinforcing teamwork and determination.
Reflection & Feedback: Participants shared personal insights and offered feedback to improve future team-building events.
